CATSKILL — It’s one of the area’s oldest golf courses, but for the first time in nearly 90 years, it has a new wrinkle.

The Catskill Golf Resort opened for play in 1927 and now, for the first time since 1928, the course is open to the public. The Resort underwent a new management change in the beginning of 2014 and became a public course in April of last year.

“When we had the opportunity to purchase the course, we wanted to make it a public course,” Catskill Golf Resort general manager John W. Jones Jr. said. “Last year was more of a soft opening, we had a lot of things under construction.”
